Yay. I am finally back from my 6day trip to sydney and I miss the internet, nz air and our not-so-annoying accents. No offence, Oz has dodge accents. Try sitting through a conversation with someone saying 'Yeh' at the end of every phrase or sentence. But anywho... EVERYTHING IS EXPENSIVE THERE. but maybe its because I'm a tourist and I do not work there. (with the nifty minimum wage of $20 per hour) Mum had to check the exchange rates every now and then before we go all azn and spend $$$ on souveniers and whatnot. So here is a mini recount on my trip~
2nd April:
Landed at Oz at... 10am. Rented a car and GPS system is being annoying. Dad is cranky cause its old and tells you to turn the opposite direction. Got to the hotel~ then went to find Bondi (pronounced Bond-eye) beach. It took us around... 45 minutes of azn stress and an extra nagging voice from the GPS before we arrived at our destination. Yay!! Then... We got another dillema.
Parking booth. D:
Mum was complaining about how expensive it was and we were putting in the coins one by one :3 (Their 50 cent coins are MASSIVE) The sand at Bondi beach was real soft... But sis says that they 'buy' sand. Which then made me feel like I'm stepping on a huge sandbox... Artificial and spade 'n' bucketless. We then went to a nearby restaurant for dinner~ Bondi pizza... It was AWESOME. The flavours there were out of this world! I mean, ever heard of mango and yoghurt pizza? Damn straight you haven't. It was surprisingly delish. Then back to the hotel and sleep on a piece of cloud.... (from the sky, not final fantasy.)
April 3rd:
We had to pack and go up to blue mountain for one day so mum booked a room at a hotel there for the night. We got to see these three mountains right next to each other named the three sisters. Going down a trail to the only sister able to be closest to made up of... A flight of stairs which were on a steep angle going down, which going down to our destination was a breeze. What about going up? Well... lets just say I had to stare at my sister's butt going up the whole flight of stairs. Butterflies grew by ten fold whenever I took a look down behind me and my hands would get clammy.
After a breathtaking view of the mountains and a trip up and down the stairs of hell, we went to a steakhouse for dinner. (Oh the joy...) I personally dislike huge amounts of meat so I shared with mama~ It was terrible. ;_; The chefs obviously did not know what 'medium rare' steak was. My piece of meat was ozzing with red liquid and tasted foul. I was scared of beef steak from then on.
4th April:
We drove back to sydney but went to a wildlife park on the way. Kangaroo here, koala there... Then end of park. Now off to the royal easter show grounds!! It. Was. HUGE. Honestly, it makes our easter showgrounds look like a small ant compared to its large space (olympic park grounds) and it even had a gigantic ferris wheel! (Brownie points for that..) The event was two weeks long and it was filled with lights and laughter. My mum bought a quilling set for herself, my sister and I to share~ I got a FF13 key chain which was LIGHTNING'S SWORD!!! Thank god it made through security when I brought it back... :D
5th April:
We went to darling harbour and I met up with a friend there~ We went to watch 'How To Train Your Dragon' in the biggest IMAX in the whole world!! It was most certainly HUGE. I was left speechless after the movie~ Then my family and I went to an aquarium. It had small activities on 'Where's Wally?' good times... The fish and other creatures were awesome... And around the last part, there was a huge aquarium display with all sorts of fish, sharks and a turtle. We sat on the carpet steps staring in awe for about and hour with the orchestral music whispering softly through the speakers... Thank god we didn't get brainwashed or anything like that...
And.. I lost record of the rest of the days. But it was fun~
I am glad to say that I came back alive and safe (Better than missing the plane because kangaroos kidnapped me..) And I have been staring at my newly bought anime trinklets since then~
